Volkan Emre is an experienced finance, and project management professional with an academic background in financial and development economics. He currently works as a Financial Analyst at Global Communities' (Formerly CHF International) Office of Development Finance. Volkan is the founder of World Energy Security Analysis Platform (Wesap), an online energy news aggregation and database initiative spanning several sectors and regions. He is also the founder of the online databank and analysis platform Natural Gas Turkey, which provides a single source for Turkish Energy data as well as an energy analysis model to measure long-term natural gas supply security in Turkey.
Financial Inclusion and Energy Geopolitics are Volkan's main professional and academic interests.
Volkan started his professional career as a Budgeting and Controlling Assistant Specialist at Sisecam Glassware Group (Pasabahce Glass Industry Inc.), one of the world's top three glassware companies. At the headquarters of the company, he was responsible for synthesizing management reports from 9 different factories in Turkey, Russia and Bulgaria for the CEO's review, as well as monitoring a 40-million dollar IFC loan. Volkan Emre is a member of Istanbul Chamber of Certified Public Accountants (ISMMMO) since 2008. He holds a M.A degree in International and Development Economics from HTW Berlin, a M.Sc degree in Financial Economics from Istanbul Bilgi University and a Bachelor's degree in Public Finance from Hacettepe University in Ankara, Turkey. He speaks Turkish, English, German and Farsi.
